Eating with Braces

You will need to take special care to avoid any foods that could damage your new appliances. Here is a list of do’s and don’ts:
Foods you CAN eat with braces:
- Grains - cooked pasta, cooked rice, soft tortillas, pancakes
- Dairy - yogurt, soft cheese, milk-based drinks
- Meats/poultry/fish - soft cooked chicken, meatballs, lunch meats, tuna, salmon
- Vegetables - mashed potatoes, cooked veggies are fine
- Fruits - bananas, sliced apples or pears
- Treats - milkshakes, soft ice cream without nuts, Jell-O, soft cake
- *Sugarless chewing gum is fine!
Foods to avoid with braces:
- Chewy foods - gummies, licorice
- Crunchy foods - popcorn, ice, hard candies, hard nuts
- Sticky foods - caramel candies, suckers
- Foods that require biting into - corn on the cob, apples, raw carrots
